Welcome to my blog I’m a Teenager Get Me Out Of Here. I started this blog because I feel the stories I will be sharing, will help some teenagers or young adults who can relate to my experiences.
This journey started many years ago prompted by simple diary entries I made to help me cope with school. Growing up in an era of social media brought on challenges. These included self esteem issues, bullying, the diet culture, relationship pressures etc. To deal with these I wrote about them. The people that made it into my diary always seemed to have characteristics of an animal, and that was where I’m a teenager get me of here was born. Some experiences were challenging, and others when I look back on them now were hilarious.
Typically in the animal kingdom you a have the dominant predator such as the lion, and as you make your way down the eco system you meet a diverse range of species. From the mighty creatures to well.. let’s say the cockroach. Animals are wonderful creatures, each species has a range of qualities and characteristics, some fierce, funny, cruel, kind, gentle…like humans. But some have a nasty side….like humans. So I turned every protagonist in my diary into an animal to cope.
Using the analogy of animals to describe characters added that sense of comedy to tough situations. It helped me look at these events through a different lens and from this perspective I was able to turn it into a lesson and grow. School for me was a jungle. I did not find it easy but it made me a strong independent person. Let’s just say I got a lot of crazy stories out of it..So now I can share them with you.
I want to share my story. I hope that anyone who might relate to any of my experiences will take comfort in knowing that they are not alone in the jungle.
